Alberto Bombassei is an Italian businessman with a net worth of $1.6 billion. He is the chairman and shareholder of Brembo S.p.A., a world leader in the production of automotive disc brake technology for high-performance cars and motorcycles.

Bombassei’s father set up Brembo in 1961, and Alberto was familiar with the company’s operations from an early age. In 1975, Brembo started making brakes for Ferrari’s cars, which led to its entry into Formula One racing.

The company was listed on the Milan stock exchange almost twenty years later. Bombassei, who owns a 54% stake in the company, became a billionaire after Brembo’s stock almost doubled in 2013.

While Brembo’s growth has slowed down in Italy, it is still expanding rapidly in Germany and the United States. The company is also making inroads in France and Great Britain.
