Artist Shares Truth Behind Dale Chihuly Eye Loss

The Master of Glass: The Art of Dale Chihuly dives into the life of the renowned and voluntary glass sculptor Dale Chihuly.

Smithsonian Channel announced the new show celebrating the famous artist, Dale. He is known by many people for his detailed handwork and beautiful large-scale glass installations which have pushed the boundaries of contemporary art for more than four decades. 

He creates statement pieces using form and color to form his imagination and has various conventional ideas of beauty and function. The artist is somewhat mysterious and is mostly known by his name. His creations are throughout the Findland's river, blossoms across the ceilings of Bellagio in Las Vegas, the narrow canals of Venice, and various other galleries of the major museum throughout the world.

The Smithsonian Channel special tried to make and capture the impact of the heart and mind of the man behind the glass. The channel tries to capture the life and career of the artist. He is both complex and compassionate. He is a father, a supportive friend, and a dedicated partner who has been together with her wife for years, and he has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He suffered a huge loss after he lost his eyesight in his left eye after he got into an accident.  

The series takes into the life, a career as well as influence made by the glass sculptor. The stories of his career, childhood, accident and more are told by his students, family, and by the artist himself. 

The show dives into the life of Dale Chihuly and the places and things that he has collected and visited throughout his life. He is a man who is keen on beauty and connection and he will leave behind an enduring legacy. 

Master Of Glass The Art Of Dale Chihuly is said to be released on December 11, 2022, on a Sunday at 9 PM on the Smithsonian Channel. The documentary will have four episodes according to TV Guide that talks about his life and the experiences he has had throughout the journey. All the episodes will be released on different dates starting from the 11th of December.
