A man was shot and killed at Shady Valley Park in Buckhead on Thursday evening, authorities confirmed.

Officers found the victim inside the park at about 5:20 p.m. dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, an Atlanta police spokesperson said in a news release. The preliminary investigation appears to be “consistent with suicide,” the spokesperson said.

Shady Valley Park is located just north of the intersection of Buford Highway and Lenox Road.
