Adam Whitecloud Walton
Adam, the couple's eldest child, was born in 1977 and was the first to follow in his father's footsteps.
With a family legacy that includes the NBA Hall of Fame and NBA coaching, basketball is in his blood. Adam played college basketball at LSU and later at Pomona and the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA.
Today, as an assistant coach at San Diego Mesa College, Adam is passing on his father's legacy as a player through his own love of the game.
As head coach, Adam is sure to continue his devotion to basketball for many years to come, alongside his father and three brothers. Their journey has even been featured on the reality TV series Bill Walton's Long, Strange Trip.
Nathan Walton
Nathan Walton, the second child of the family, was born in 1978. Today, he is a partner and head of private equity at the Ares Secondaries Group.
Nathan is a member of several investment committees, including the Ares Private Equity Group's Energy Opportunities and Extended Value Investment Committees, the Ares Infrastructure Group's Climate Infrastructure Partners Investment Committee, the Ares Secondaries Group's Private Equity Investment Committee, and the Ares Sports, Media, and Entertainment Investment Committee.
Nathan joined the firm in 2006 and holds a B.A. in Politics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Nathan left his basketball career behind to become the President of SGS Holdings LLC, where he has found success in the oil business.
Luke Walton
Luke Walton was born on March 18, 1980, in California. Luke is the third son of his parents.
He's a former professional basketball player who is now known as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Luke was named after his father's close friend Maurice Lucas.
He attended the University of San Diego High School and later the University of Arizona, where he played basketball under coach Lute Olson.
Luke started playing professional basketball in 2003 after being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. He was a fan favorite and was chosen to represent team Los Angeles in the Shooting Stars Competition during All-Star Weekend in 2005.
Luke signed a six-year contract extension worth $30 million with the Lakers in 2007. After his retirement, he became a player development coach in Los Angeles and later an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors on July 3, 2014.
In 2014, Luke won his first NBA Finals as an assistant coach. He won his first NBA Finals as a coach with the Warriors in 2015. There is also another famous professional basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Detroit Pistons named Jalen Duren.
In 2016, he was hired as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers on April 29.
Luke has been married to his longtime girlfriend Bre Ladd since August 17, 2013. The couple got married in Aspen, Colorado in the presence of 200 guests. They have two sons together.
Christopher Walton
Chris Walton, the youngest child of his family, was born on 31 October 1981. Chris played for San Diego State.
Bill Walton's youngest son, Chris, is the fourth and final son to play Division I college basketball. Despite almost having his career ended due to injuries, Chris managed to save it with a few impressive performances during his fifth year as a senior at San Diego State.
Bill Walton has been a vocal supporter of his son Chris, who overcame numerous hip and groin injuries to complete his college basketball career at San Diego State.
Chris Walton, who has an average of 11.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in six conference games, has faced a lot of trash talk at road games, just like his brothers. He attended the University of San Diego High School in California and is currently working in the real estate field.
