Tennessee Willie Spence, an American Idol finalist, was discovered dead following a car Accident.

According to news outlets, which quoted a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, Willie Spence, 23 at that time, passed away on Tuesday after colliding with the rear of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 24 East near Chattanooga.

According to the reports, the truck driver was unharmed, while Willie was severely injured.

Spence, a Georgia native, came in second place on “American Idol” season 19 last year.

Car Accident In Tennessee That Took Willie Spence’s Life

According to a family representative, Willian Spence was en route from a college homecoming celebration in Tennessee.

A representative for Willie Spence’s family confirmed to The Palm Beach Post on Wednesday that the American Idol finalist, who gained notoriety for his performance, passed away in a Tennessee car accident on Tuesday.

During a news conference in Riviera Beach on Wednesday afternoon, Willie Spence Sr. remarked, ‘All I can say is this is like a bad dream. I am at a loss for words. I only know that I shall miss him.’

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Marion County medical examiner, the collision happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday in Marion County in East Tennessee.

Spence’s 2019 Jeep Cherokee left the roadway and hit the back of a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Interstate 24 on the east side at the 147-mile marker.

According to the report, both Spence, a Georgia native, and the tractor-68-year-old trailer’s driver were buckled up.

According to a spokeswoman, the Highway Patrol is still looking into what caused Spence’s car to stray from the path.

The cause of death was ‘multisystem trauma due to motor vehicle accident,’ according to Marion County Medical Examiner Barbara O’Neal, and Spence was declared dead at the scene.

Spence uploaded a video of himself singing ‘You Are My Hiding Place’ just hours before the accident.

According to a preliminary accident report, the collision occurred near Mile Marker 147 when Spence’s Jeep veered off the road and struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the road shoulder, according to WGXA.

After being transported to the hospital, Spence passed away.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to a message left with them on Wednesday morning.

Next month, Spence was slated to perform in London.

In honor of Spence’s Season 19 participation, Katharine McPhee, with whom she sang a duet, shared videos on her Instagram Story.

Above a video of her and Spence meeting, she wrote, ‘I received extremely bad news tonight. “Sweet @williespenceofficial died in a traffic collision. 23 years old just. Nothing is ever guaranteed, and life is so unfair. God rest your soul Willie. It was a pleasure to sing with you and to know you.’
