GAZA CITY, GAZA -- Three people, including a child, were killed in an explosion at a home in the Palestinian-ruled West Bank city of Ramallah on Monday night, the Palestine Red Crescent Society told CNN.

Several others were injured in the blast, the cause of which wasn't immediately clear.

Earlier Monday, two Palestinians were killed and four others were injured Monday when a bomb went off, destroying a house in Gaza City, doctors at Shifa Hospital reported.

The dead were listed as Handi Madhoun, 18, and Mohammed Abu Ahalid, around 20. A 48-year-old woman was hurt along with a man and two children ages 14 and 4, doctors said.

Palestinian police sources said the family living in the Gaza City home was affiliated with the Islamic group Hamas and they believe the family had been targeted by bombers.

In southern Gaza, meanwhile, a bomb exploded Monday in a car, owned by an Israeli, that was parked near community-owned greenhouses at Rafiah-Yam. The bomb killed one Palestinian worker and injured another, the Israel Defense Forces said.

An IDF spokesman said troops were combing the area around the Jewish settlement where the blast went off.

The injured Palestinian worker was taken to a hospital in Israel for treatment, the IDF said.

Rafiah-Yam is near the Egyptian border.

In a separate development, the militant wing of Hamas claimed Monday that one of its members was behind a car bomb attack on a school bus carrying Jewish students last weekend.

In a statement to news agencies, the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades said that Jamal Abdel-Ghani Rashid Nasir blew himself up in the attack on the bus, using a car filled with 240 kilograms (528 pounds) of explosives, near the settlement of Sha'arei Shomron in the West Bank.

No one was hurt aboard the bus. The bomber's car was destroyed. His body was found nearby.

Hamas also released a videotape showing Nasir, 23, saying he was planning the attack and holding weapons and a Koran, the Muslim holy book.
