Ted Bundy how killed up to 33 women. He was one of the most notorious killers in the history of America. Ted was the man who did not have guilty for what he did with females. He used to harass, sexually assault and kill the victim.

Ted Bundy Confession

Bundy admitted to eight killings in Utah and 30 altogether before his death, but it soon became evident he hadn’t been truthful, and his final interviews were questioned. His meetings led investigators nowhere, for sure.

Salt Lake County Sheriff Dennis Couch was interviewed two days before Bundy’s death. Couch quietly and coolly tried to find Bundy’s victims for 90 minutes.

After that conversation, he informed Washington state investigators he killed eight Utah girls/women. Three of the murders he confessed to being swiftly ruled out. Authorities suspected Bundy was behind some disappearances, but he denied it.

Melissa Smith, Laura Ann Aime, Nancy Wilcox, Debi Kent, and Susan Curtis were killed by Bundy. Between October 1974 and June 1975, all five disappeared. Only Smith and Aime were found.

It’s possible Bundy was reliving murders from 15 years ago. When asked about one of the cases, Bundy told Couch, “My mind isn’t as nimble as it used to be.

Some say that was his last deed before being executed.

Ann Rule, author of “The Stranger Beside Me,” said in 1989 at Utah State University that she suspected Bundy lied to police about where he buried victims. She questioned whether his confession was “a plot to send cops slopping through the mud in vain, something Ted would relish.”

Bundy’s Crimes

Ted Bundy was never convicted of a Utah murder. In Utah court records, he’s only been convicted of kidnapping Carol DaRonch in 1974. Bundy escaped and was caught dodging police in August 1975. Handcuffs, a ski mask, and eyeless pantyhose were in his car

As his execution approaches, he meets with Utah authorities and other investigators ten years later.

Some accounts called it the “Bundy Summit.” Police and others taped his discussions.

Bundy discussed Utah murders with Couch on Jan. 22, 1989. Bundy was upset that Utah officials didn’t stop the execution, the Deseret News said.

Bundy said Couch, “I would trust you not to run back to Salt Lake City and tell the press everything I said” “… Its senselessness appals me, but not as much as those closest to it.”

He supplied unclear details that night. Bundy hid how he killed and buried his victims. Bundy claimed he buried Kent south of Thistle, Utah, on U.S. Highway 89 and that “you could spend several lifetimes looking there.”

When asked more about Kent, he said, “I’m probably talking about unfindable remains.”

The conference ended with longer pauses between answers. Bundy stopped recording after an hour. Couch prodded Bundy for further explanations but got nothing. Couch asked Bundy how many he killed in Utah as the meeting ended. Bundy didn’t answer directly but said it was more than the police knew.

Couch said Bundy seemed “defeated” after the meeting.

“He was fatigued, exhausted, nearly to the point of dropping asleep,” Couch said.

Jim Simone of Carbon County Search and Rescue searched for Sue Curtis’ remains near Price, Utah, on Jan. 28, 1989. Ted Bundy detailed her grave less than an hour before he was executed. Ms. Curtis disappeared from BYU in 1975 and was believed to be one of 23 killings Bundy confessed to in Utah, Idaho, Washington, and Colorado.

Bundy told Washington police he killed eight people in Utah, as he said Couch. Police in Utah believed he may have been responsible for 11 killings between 1971 and 1976. A month after Bundy’s execution, investigators could only link him to five murders.

Bundy visited with police and a Christian radio personality in his last days. Bundy blamed pornography and media violence in the meeting.

Rule suspected the radio host meeting was a “con game,” similar to her mistrust regarding his police meetings.

Bundy’s cautionary tale is again in the spotlight as his 30th-anniversary approaches. On the anniversary of Bundy’s death, Netflix will show a docuseries on his final encounters. Zac Efron plays Bundy in a film premiering at Sundance on Saturday.
