What is Elisabeth Murdoch’s Net Worth?

Elisabeth Murdoch, daughter of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, is a British American television industry and international media executive. She founded the international television production and distribution company Shine Group in 2001 and has a net worth of $1.375 billion.

After starting her career as a manager at her father’s FX Networks, Murdoch made her first acquisition in 1994, buying a pair of NBC-affiliate television stations in California with her then-husband Elkin Kwesi Pianim. They re-arranged and re-sold the stations at a $12 million profit. Murdoch then took a key role in BSkyB, eventually becoming Managing Director. After a public quarrel with CEO Sam Chisholm, she established Shine Limited in 2001, owning 80% of the company.

Murdoch sold Shine to News Corporation in 2011 but remains Chairman and CEO. In 2019, she founded another global production company called Sister.

In 2011, News Corporation, led by Rupert Murdoch, acquired Shine Group for $415 million. In 2014, Shine Group merged with Endemol and Core Media, under the name Endemol Shine Group. The new company distributed programs such as “Big Brother,” “Peaky Blinders,” “Black Mirror,” and “Tin Star.”
