Emma began her career as GMTV's first weathergirl in 1993. Jesson has been in the television industry for over 30 years.
She had originally planned to become a vet, so she was taking courses in Cambridge in the related field, but during her year off, she worked backstage in a theater, and during that time, Jasper Carrot's agent was convinced that she would make a great television presenter.
After receiving such suggestions and compliments, she decided to change her career path. She joined GMTV in 1993, but she left the network after they relocated to London. In 1995, she joined ITV as a freelance weather presenter for ITV Granada and ITV Central.
Currently, she is known for presenting the ITV weather across the north of England, the Midlands, and southern Scotland. Since the beginning of her career, she has been a radio reporter, stage manager, and researcher, and she has worked with networks such as the BBC, Channel 4, and ITV.
She is also known for her event hosting, video work, and media training.
As an event host, she specializes in corporate launches, awards events, and conferences. For award events, she has worked with Samsung, BMW, Birmingham Sports, NHS Mental Health, and Philips International.
For the video content, she has appeared mostly in promotional films, public information videos, and corporate videos. She has worked with brands such as Kellogg, Coca-Cola, and Schindler Lifts.
She also appeared in the video for FedEx and is known to be part of the Royal Mint's campaign for new 50-cent coin designs.
