Eric Fields's Baseball Recruiting Profile

Writer Scarlett Howard

Personal Statement

My freshman year of college, I started at Cypress College. After being released in September, 2014 I was contacted by Coach Dave Gage saying that if I could get accepted into Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont for the Spring term, I had a spot on the roster.  I was accepted and transferred in January of 2015 after finishing my fall term at Cypress.  At Southern Vermont, I was the starting left fielder and I batted seventh in the lineup.  Also, when needed, I covered right field and third base.  I loved playing baseball for the Mountaineers; however, I found that Southern Vermont College and Bennington was just too small for me.

My goals for next year are to continue playing baseball at a college or university that has a bigger community. I am willing to relocate almost anywhere in the country to play baseball and get my education. I am a good student with a 2.67 GPA and I do work hard on academics as well. I am a hard worker, aggressive on the field and listen well.  My profile says I am an outfielder but I can play where ever it is needed to help my team.

2015 Stats:

As a freshman at Southern Vermont College I played in 33 games got 95 at bats at which I was able to get 1 triples, 5 doubles and 29 of hits for a .305 batting average. I also had 2 sacrifice flies ‎and 6 stolen bases. I would have had a perfect 1.000 for fielding except for one error charge to me while filling in at Third base. My play and attitude on the field is very aggressive and like to have similar enthusiasm from team mates.
