Personal Statement

I am a 5'4 libero and setter from Duncanville, TX, originally born in Wichita, Kansas. I was a captin and often changed from setter to libero on my JV A school team in TAPPS 4A. I also played as a defensive specialist on Varsity. I have played volleyball for a total of 9 years.I played at Arlington Courts Elite volleyball for 3 years and am currently playing at 360 volleyball. I have played for 6 years at Pantego Christian Academy. I was a setter previous to becoming the libero for my club teams 2 years in a row, one of which was the 2nd top team in my club. I am currently a setter and a DS for the 18 Kaos Black team at 360 volleyball which is the top team in the club. My 2 step approach vertical is 19' as of the fall season of '13, but I am doing plyometric workouts to bring it up since I am slightly vertically challenged. I have not yet taken my SAT, but have received a 27 on my ACT which I took in June '14.I have an 11.608 GPA on a scale of 12 because of the AP classes I take. On a scale of 4.0, it is around a 3.9 GPA. I also participate in National Honor Society and the CLASS Honors program. Even though, I have not started this recruiting process as early as I should have, I am still 100% committed to playing college volleyball. I have played volleyball since 4th grade and I can't imagine not playing. Even though I am from Texas, I am not opposed to other states as long it is financially manageable. I do need a college that provides a good Dramatic Arts program for my major.
