A Time To Be Born
Ethel Mitchell was the second of five children born to the late John David Terry and Dora Ethel Terry on July 24, 1943 in Norfolk, VA. Ethel was affectionately called “Turkey” by her childhood friends.
A Time To Live
Ethel was educated in the Norfolk Public School System. She later had three children who she loved and nurtured through adulthood. Ethel lived her life to the fullest, making life-long friends along the way. She enjoyed her regular casino trips with family and friends. Another of her favorite past times were watching “The Young & The Restless” and “The Price Is Right”.
A Time To Serve
Ethel began her career with the Ford Motor Company, Norfolk Plant in 1977. She took a hiatus in 1981 to work Tidewater Regional Transit Authority serving as a bus driver from 1982 to 1987. Ethel made many trips throughout the Tidewater area meeting and greeting old and new friends. She later returned to work for Ford in 1988 and retired from that job in 1997.
A Time To Die
Ethel spent a couple of years trying to sustain her life though various health concerns. She slept away to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
A Time To Mourn
Ethel leaves to mourn, her loving companion of more than 50 years, Lendell, two sons, Marvin (Valerie), Terrance (LaVonyia), and one daughter Rhonda, one brother William, Seven grandchildren, Dante, Shauntai (Derrick), Xavier (Raymeesha), Dominick (Erika), Zakiya, Alisha and Messiah, nine great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
