First Dates’ Nik: The guy who wrote ‘Big Fish Little Fish Cardboard Box’ Fri 13 April 2018 13:00 Liam Curtis

During episode two of First Dates, we met a guy with a very peculiar claim to fame.
Nik, a 56-year-old singer and songwriter, produced a famous lyric that featured on everything from a Bob The Builder song to Kevin & Perry Go Large, the movie.
Here’s everything you need to know about the man who gave us the legendary ‘Big Fish Little Fish Cardboard’ dance.
Little Fish
Nik introduced himself to the camera, answering the one question that we had all been wondering.
What the hell are you up to now, mate?
Admitting that his career as a musician was more on the little fish side, Nik explained:
Nik said: I perform in a lot of hotels now. And some nights it can be absolutely buzzing.”
Big Fish
Clearly, Nik was no-longer able to call himself a chart-topping musician.
In fact, hopefully, he never did.
However, this didn’t stop a touch of arrogance from tainting Nik’s voice.
Enjoying his dinner with 52-year-old Jazz singer Gina, the mad-man from Scarborough shunned one of the First Dates waiters as he politely asked about Nik’s career.
It’s not like the waiter was going to ask for an autograph!
Cardboard Box
When it came to the success of the date, unfortunately, Nik failed to knock the socks off Gina.
Having admitted to being single for “eight or nine years”, Nik was going to have to wait a little longer.
Gina and Nik placed themselves in a cardboard box of friendship instead of romance, confessing that there was “no spark”.
Of course, this left Twitter to have some playful fun with the whole ‘Big Fish Little Fish’ lyric…
