Jamie Lynn Spears was cast as one of I’m A Celebrity’s original campmates in series 23. But, in Wednesday night’s episode (November 29), Ant McPartlin announced Jamie was no longer taking part. Her exit prompted fans to recall the time she left Dancing with the Stars early.
As well as being Britney Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn is a celebrity in her own right. In her younger years, she was an actress in Nickelodeon series Zoey 101. She later went on to appear in Netflix‘s Sweet Magnolias and she also had a singing career. But now the I’m A Celebrity too.
Why did Jamie Lynn Spears leave Dancing with the Stars?
In September this year, a brand new season of Dancing with the Stars kicked off. The ABC show features a star-studded line-up including Jason Mraz, Lele Pons, Ariana Madix, Mauricio Umansky, and more famous faces.
Jamie Lynn was also a celebrity taking part in season 32. But, she was eliminated in Week Two.
She was partnered with professional dancer Alan Bersten. But, after receiving low scores during Latin Week, the two were axed from the show.
Jamie Lynn on I’m A Celebrity
After leaving DWTS, Jamie Lynn went on to appear in I’m A Celebrity this November.
She spent 11 days on the ITV show and placed 11th overall.
Speaking on episode 11, the show’s hosts explained: “Jamie Lynn Spears has left the camp on medical grounds… she’s doing fine and she goes away with our best wishes.”
Sources claim the actress will still receive the staggering full paycheck even though she left early. Celebrity salaries are never revealed but previous seasons have claimed stars get hundreds of thousands to lie with creepy crawlies.
Leaves third show this year
Reality TV viewers have seen Jamie Lynn leave three shows early this year.
Before I’m A Celebrity and Dancing with the Stars, the actress and singer was a contestant on FOX show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season 1.
Jamie voluntarily withdrew in episode 3 because she missed her daughters, Maddie and Ivey.
