He was born in Carroll County, Georgia in March 1968 and is best known for his role as Rusty Griswold in the movie National Lampoon’s European Vacation in 1985. Lively comes from a family of actors, including his sisters Lori Lively and Robyn Lively, stepfather Ernie Lively, half-siblings Blake Lively and Eric Lively.

Aside from his breakout role in National Lampoon’s European Vacation, Lively also appeared in films such as Brainstorm, Night of the Creeps, Ghost Chase, Monday Morning, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School Forever, Maximum Force, and Hickok. He had a recurring role on the television series Mancuso, FBI, and also appeared in episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard and 21 Jump Street.
