What is Kermit Weeks’ net worth?
Kermit Weeks is an aviation enthusiast and pilot with a net worth of $200 million. He is also an aircraft collector who owns one of the largest private collections of flight-worthy historical aircraft in the world.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1953, Weeks’ fortune comes from oil and natural gas royalties, inherited from his grandfather, Lewis George Weeks. As CEO, Lewis helped Exxon negotiate the deal that led to Bass Straits, Australia’s biggest oil field.
Kermit uses his royalty income to fund his aviation pursuits and has achieved many impressive accomplishments in the world of aviation. He started building his first aircraft at 17, entered aerobatic flying competitions in 1973, and qualified for the United States Aerobatics Team by 1977.
Kermit is the founder and curator of Fantasy of Flight, an aviation-themed attraction with a large private aircraft collection located in Polk City, Florida. He has also published two books, “All of Life is a School” and “The Spirit of Lindy.”
Kermit has been awarded the Freedom of Flight Award and the Lloyd P. Nolan Lifetime Achievement in Aviation Award. He has also been inducted into the Florida Aviation Hall of Fame and named a “Living Legend of Aviation.”
Some of Kermit’s planes have been used in blockbuster movies, including his Ford Trimotor in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and his Sikorsky S-38 replica in “The Aviator.”
