In the 1950s, Bridges was briefly blacklisted but recanted his membership to the Actors’ Laboratory Theatre, which enabled him to continue acting. He gained more widespread attention when he landed the role of Mike Nelson in the television series “Sea Hunt” which ran from 1958 until 1961. Throughout the early and mid-1970s, Bridges was in high demand for television film roles, starring in several miniseries like “Roots” and “How the West Was Won.”

Lloyd Bridges’ Malibu Home

In the 1950s, Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges purchased an oceanfront home in Malibu for a small amount of money, which is now worth between $4-6 million. After Lloyd’s death, their children, Jeff, Beau, and their sister inherited the property and rent it out for $16,000 per month. The siblings only pay $5,700 a year in property taxes due to California’s Proposition 13 tax law.
