Writer Sophia Edwards

Lorraine ‘Lorrie’ D’amato Obituary, Death – The untimely death of Lorraine D’amato has shocked and saddened everyone in Newark. She was a dear friend, hardworking colleague, and a figure whose presence brought joy to many. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will never be the same after her sudden passing at 61 years of age on December 5, 2023. Newark was an integral part of Lorrie’s upbringing;

she attended Newark High School and then Herkimer College for her bachelor’s degree. She came to a close to her stellar 30-year accounting and office management career at Tradition Chevrolet, where she had a profound impact. What brought Lorrie the most happiness in life was being around her loved ones, especially her five beloved grandchildren, and spoiling them. You could feel the love and care radiating off of her as she devoted herself completely to her family and friends.

The legacy of love and warmth that Lorrie leaves behind is immense. Her siblings Jim Ide and his wife Liz, Jackie Ide, and Nancy Ide are also survivors, as are her children Mychal and Brittany Wilkes. Her mom, Regina Ide, and dad, James Ide, have both passed away. On Thursday, December 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct, Newark, N.Y. 14513, will host a service to honor Lorrie’s memory.

Let us gather together in this time of grief to remember Lorrie by celebrating her life and sending our deepest sympathies to her loved ones and the community at large that she had such a profound impact on. Observing a Moment of Reflection #LorrieLost #NewarkMournsLoss
