Personal Statement

My name is Nathaniel Gary and I’m currently attending Ferrucci Junior High School as a 9th grader from Puyallup, WA. For this school year 2013/14, I will be playing on three teams. I’m a 6' 0"/185 lbs forward/center, and for the last three years, I’ve played on my school's 7th grade, 8th grade teams and currently playing on my 9th grade basketball team. I’ve also played 2 years on the Puyallup recreation league for 7th -- 9th graders and I’m currently playing as a 9th grader. For my third team, I play for a 9th grade/JV AAU team in Federal Way, WA called ProBound Elite. I have a great passion for the game of basketball. During the off-season, I train at various basketball camps during the summer, participate at group basketball training sessions, and practice on my individual skills at the local YMCA. Currently, I have a solid 3.8 GPA and on schedule to meet the NCAA eligibility requirements. Being competitive on the court and in the classroom are very important to me. My goal after graduating from High School is to attend a highly regarded academic institution where I can prepare myself for a career, while at the same time, contribute to a college basketball program. I still have a lot to learn, but I do know that I would be an excellent representative for any university based on my academic and athletic success. I’m open to any area of the United States and looking at Division 1, 2, 3, NAIA, and NJCAA schools to make this a reality.
