Personal Statement
My name is Nick Eastman and I will be an 18 year old Senior at Coloma High School in Michigan, graduating in June 2020. I play varsity baseball for Coloma HS and have been involved with the HS varsity team since 8th grade as team manager. I was selected for the varsity team my Freshman year. I received the “Ultimate Grinder” award from my teammates as a Junior for the 2019 baseball season. I was named first team All-Conference, as well as Academic All-State for 2019. Baseball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. Community recreational leagues, All Star teams, travel baseball, camps/clinics, personal coaching, as well as varsity team member for each of my high school years demonstrates my love and commitment to the game. In addition to baseball I have participated in the following athletic programs at our HS: varsity football, varsity soccer, Freshman and JV basketball.
It is important for me to give back to my community. I volunteer with youth clinics to assist the younger players in our community with baseball skills and fundamentals. My volunteer work also includes assisting with before school care for elementary students on our districts late start days.and helping with organizational fundraisers as needed.
I am dedicated to academics and eager to select a college that provides exploration into areas of interest. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have maintained Gold Honor Roll (all A’s) status throughout my academic career. I have taken advantage of Advanced Placement courses provided at Coloma HS. Although I have not made a final selection on long term educational goals, education remains a high priority.
Thank you for considering me as a baseball player for your college. I appreciate your time and look forward to discussing opportunities to pursue my passion for baseball and my long term educational goals.
