Park Hyatt Seoul Hotel Review, South Korea

Writer William Burgess

Three tempting dining experiences are available; choose between the stylish and cosy Italian Cornerstone, The Lounge on the 24th floor for spectacular cityscapes on all sides, or the snug and private Timber House vinyl music bar on the lower level that offers Japanese dishes.

While Cornerstone opens for lunch and dinner, and Timber House from 6pm until the small hours, the airy and glass-walled Lounge is open all day and serves traditional Korean style teas and scrumptious Korean fare. Exquisitely presented dishes include deodeok galbi gui (KRW 47,000/£32), a mouth-watering grilled beef rib, served with deodeok roots, glazed carrots and spring onions, and accompanied by separate bowls of sticky rice, broth, kimchi and pickles. Signature desserts include the Honey Bingsu (KRW 38,000/£26), a winning combination of shaved ice milk, warak mountain honeycomb, Chantilly cream, pecan nuts and roasted apple purée.

A buffet and à la carte breakfast are served at Cornerstone from 6.30am to 10.30am. Expect an overwhelming and delicious selection of both Korean and Western style dishes.
