Rico Swavey’s car accident brought a huge shock to his family and fans. The accident was reported to be fatal, and he was heavily injured. 

Patrick Fakoya was famously known as Rico Swavey, and he was 29 when the news was circulated that the famous star who was recently featured in the third season of Big Brother Naija as ex-housemate. 

The fans highly appreciated his acting on television, and over the television series gained popularity.

Rico’s management and his friends reported that he was hospitalized in Doren Hospital due to a fatal accident. The reason for the accident revealed that he was drunk and fell into a car crash. 

The car crash was fatal, and Rico had endured countless injuries and broken bones. He was immediately rushed to Doren Hospital. 

He was admitted, and the Doctor told his friends that he urgently needed a neurosurgeon review. Doctors told them to take him to the Evercare hospital in Lekki.

He was admitted to the intensive care unit for some time, and the doctors said that he would require different kinds of operations, which would require a huge amount of money. 

Neither Rico’s family nor his friends could contribute to reaching 50% of the expenses of the operation. 

Rico’s management team released a video on Twitter that shows the critical condition Rico was in. The video shows that he was on life support and couldn’t live without it. 

“We have to constantly keep him on life support and continue to pay the rising medical bills while we pray for God’s miracle.”

On Tuesday, reality TV star Alex Asogwa, Alex Unusual, also shared the news about the accident on her Twitter page and called for donations.

On Wednesday, she shared a post on her Instagram, “I wish I didn’t have to post this, but my friend, Patrick Fakoya, aka Rico Swavey, is in a critical condition. We require your urgent financial assistance and prayers.“

“I also wish I could give you more details on his health. But how can I when we are still waiting for the doctors? And we seek God to save this dear life or at least get a sign of a miracle.”

Rico’s condition was losing all hope for life. Apart from being on life support, the internal injuries were not recovering. 

On Oct 13, 2020, Thursday, the news was shared by his management and friends that he had passed away. Unfortunately, the fund couldn’t be arranged on time, and his body could not be supported by life support.
