Robin Bernadette Brown Payne was born December 21, 1964, to the late Ollie Van Brown and Queen Victoria Brown. Robin is the younger sister to her brother Anthony Van Brown.
Robin was born in New York and spent most of her childhood in the small suburban community of Lakeview, Long Island where she constantly reflected on the fun she had growing up. Robin participated in academic and extracurricular activities where she developed life- long friendships.
Upon graduation from High School, Robin initiated her career pursing her love for fashion and modeling and graduated fromthe Barbizon School of Cosmetology. After leaving New York and moving to Greenville North Carolina for a short period of time, Robin became a permanent resident of Virginia, eventually entering the United States Navy where she served for four years. Robin met her husband Chief Bryant Payne while serving in the military, and out of their union, they became the parents of Dorian Tyreese Payne. Robin was constant in expressing her love for her son, with whom Dorian learned how to live with love, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility. Together they shared the love of laughter and New York style pizza.
After serving in the military, Robin continued her dedication to the federal government by becoming an employee of the United States Postal Service where upon her passing, she had served over twenty-five years with the current rank of Post Master.
Robin will be remembered for her creative spirit to include endless arts and crafts projects, her love for culinary arts, her contagious laughter, and her loving spirit. Robin never met a stranger.
Robin is survived by her husband, Bryant; son Dorian; mother, Queen Victoria and her two nephews, Anthony Jr. and Brandon. Robin will be significantly missed by her extended family,childhood friends, and numerous close relationships she developed while in Virginia.
