“Roses” by The Chainsmokers (ft. Rozes)

Writer Michael Henderson

This is a pretty-simple love song by The Chainsmokers. Singer, Rozes plays the role of the female in the relationship, with Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers providing background vocals during the chorus.

In the beginning of the song, Rozes’ partner is presented as someone whose “heart was a stone”, as in not being privy to falling in love. However, he basically could not resist her love. So the rest of the track consists of her embracing and bigging up their romance, mentioning particular as well as symbolic ways they joyfully spend time in each other’s company. But most of all, she wants dude to ‘say he’ll never let her go’. She is basically looking for a commitment, not just a fling. This is because just as much as he is apparently digging her, she is also ‘feeling’ him.
