Personal Statement
I am highly interested in transferring to a senior institution to continue my academic studies and collegiate baseball career. I currently attend Parkland College in Champaign, IL and am a sophomore. After graduating Illinois Lutheran High School (ILHS) with honors, I have continued to excel in the classroom, where I was named to the Parkland College Honor's list both semesters of my freshman year. I also was named to the Mid-West Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference team. After a successful freshmen baseball season at Parkland, I played for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen in the Midwest Collegiate League this past summer (2015) as an infielder and pitcher. At Illinois Lutheran High School, my team won the Illinois Class 1A State Championship my senior year (2014) and I was voted the 2014 Illinois Class 1A Player-of-the-Year by the I.H.S.B.C.A. Starting on varsity for all fours years at ILHS, I was fortunate to be surrounded by dedicated teammates who were also great friends and an outstanding coaching staff. I was named to the River Valley All-Conference team and the All-Area team for four years and was honored in 2013 to be named the River Valley Conference Player-of-the-Year. I was named to the Class 1A All-State team both my junior (2013) and senior (2014) years. I believe that I am a dedicated and honest person who values hard work, friendship and family. Coming from a close, hard working family has instilled strong core values in my beliefs and having a loving sister with Down Syndrome has taught me just how rich everyday life is.
