Rosa and Sam started dating in early 2016. At the time, Sam was around 21 years old, whereas Rosa was 24. 

After less than six months of dating, the couple announced their engagement in September 2016. Pottorff uploaded a now-deleted video on YouTube titled I Got Engaged to share the news of their engagement. 

At the time, many of their fans questioned the couple's decision to get engaged at such a young age. Many netizens also doubted if their relationship would last the test of time. However, the once deeply in love couple was more than confident in the decision and even claimed that they were perfect for each other.

After six months of engagement, Sam and Rosa got married in an intimate wedding ceremony in March 2017. Pottorff even shared a link to his wedding video via a tweet on March 26, 2017; the video is no longer available on YouTube.

The couple's marriage went smoothly for more than a year. But, on December 1, 2018, Sam shared a post on Instagram, confirming the doubts previously shared by his fans. 

The YouTuber confirmed that the duo was seeking a divorce. Sam put the blame for the divorce on himself, claiming he had lied, cheated, and mistreated his wife. He added that the couple split on friendly terms and could someday work to fix their relationship.
