Syd Barrett Net Worth

Syd Barrett was an English musician and artist with a net worth of $5 million. He is best known as a founder and vocalist of Pink Floyd. Barrett enrolled at the Camberwell College of Arts to study painting in 1964 and formed the band that would eventually become Pink Floyd that same year. He contributed to Pink Floyd’s debut album and parts of the second album before leaving the group in 1968. Barrett released his debut album “The Madcap Laughs” in 1970 and his second album “Barrett” later that year. He focused on painting and gardening after disappearing from the music scene. Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60 from pancreatic cancer.

Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” album is a tribute to Barrett, who attended the recording of the song “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” as a surprise. His label released several of his previously unheard tracks on the collection “Opel” in 1998. Barrett was an accomplished musician who played the guitar, bass, organ, banjo, and ukulele.
