Tony Bellew’s wife, Rachael, first became his girlfriend many moons ago. However, it took a lot of chasing for the former heavyweight boxer to even get a first date with Rachel, whose the same age as Tony. He opened up about their incredible years-long love story in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
Childhood sweethearts Tony Bellew and Rachael grew up together in nearby Merseyside neighbourhoods and met when they were just nine years old. Tony turned 41 years old on I’m A Celebrity recently. He also told his campmates on the ITV show how meeting Rachel was the “best thing that ever happened to him”.

Tony Bellew’s wife is Rachael Roberts. They met aged nine, but their romance was sparked years later when 18-year-old he saw Rachael on a night out and fell for her. The pair later began dating and married.
He has been in a relationship with his now-wife since he was 18 years old. The former cruiserweight boxer revealed on I’m A Celebrity how Rachael had originally said no to him taking her for a drink.
Rachael then found out who Tony was and what he done for a living, calling around the Merseyside area. Although she played hard to get at first, it wasn’t long before the two made things official!
Tony Bellew’s girlfriend became wife in 2018
Tony Bellew turned his girlfriend into a wife in 2018, despite her previously turning him down three times. The childhood sweethearts tied the knot in July 2018 in a ceremony at Cheshire’s Peckforton Castle.
Their first date had been a milkshake and then a trip to the cinema – but the rest became history. After being married for five months, Rachael gave Tony an ultimatum: either stop boxing or she’ll divorce him.
He had also been watching fights on his phone whilst on honeymoon. Tony later listened to his wife, and his last fight was on March 5, 2018, against Oleksandr Usyk, which he lost.

Rachael Bellew is mum-of-four
Rachael Bellew is a mum to four children, Carson, Corey, Cobey and Carter, who she shares with Tony. Tony Bellew’s wife’s age makes her slightly younger than him, at the age of 40.
She has been in a relationship with the former boxer for 22 years, and married for five. Tony has even admitted he’s more frightened of his wife than any boxing match!
Tony was working as a nightclub bouncer at the time they met properly and became completely besotted. He always said he was the one for her – and Rachael has been his biggest supporter since.
