Tyre Nichols: The Brutal Truth Behind The Death Of A 29 Year Old

Tyre Nichols, an African-American man of Memphis, age 29, passed away from injuries on January 10, 2023, three days after being stopped by the Memphis Police Department for allegedly driving recklessly.
Up to this point, five police officers have been let go for their roles in Nicholsâ death. They are charged with breaking the use-of-force guidelines of the police force.
Five Memphis Police Department officers were fired after an internal investigation and are facing criminal charges, including second-degree murder charges.
According to the independent autopsyâs preliminary findings, Nichols was severely battered and hurt before he passed away.
Three days after being stopped for reckless driving by Memphis Police Department officers, Nichols was taken to the hospital and passed away.
According to sources, Nichols fled on foot but was later apprehended; three days after his arrest, on January 10, he passed away from unidentified wounds.
Nichols was soon taken to the hospital when he complained about shortness of breath. According to the autopsy report, he suffered a broken neck and a heart attack due to violence from the police officers.
Nicholâs family shared a photo of him that showed swollen eyes and blood on his face. Memphis officials have not yet released an official statement regarding the cause of Nicholsâ death.
Still, the familyâs attorneys, Benjamin Crump and Antonio Romanucci have said that an independent autopsy found that the 29-year-old suffered extensive bleeding.
A nationally renowned forensic pathologist performed the autopsy, who found that Nicholsâ injuries and beatings were consistent with what his family and attorney witnessed in the bodycam footage. More findings and details from the autopsy will be revealed later.
According to the Associated Press, Tyre Nicholasâ body cam footage was described by his family lawyer Benjamin Crump as troublesome on every level.
Nicholsâs family members, in an interview, said that âthey are angry, they are hurt, they are distraught, and want the officers involved to be charged with murder.â
The Memphis Police Department has not released detailed information about what happened. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the U.S. Justice Department is investigating Tyre Nicholsâ case.
