Married At First Sight UK is back on our screens for season 5, putting strangers to the ultimate test. But where are the couples now?

The Channel 4 series, which was filmed just before the lockdown, sees two couples get married just moments after they first lay eyes on each other. This time around, cameras follow Michelle and Owen’s wedding, as well as David and Shareen’s legal ceremony.

Let’s hope they live happily ever after!

So where are the season 5 couples now? We done some research to find out the latest post-show updates!

Married at First Sight: Season 5 couples

Michelle, a 25-year-old primary school teacher from Hastings, marries Owen Jenkins, who is a 31-year-old IT manager from Sheffield.

She revealed that she “instantly felt calmer” when she first Owen, while he thought of her as “gorgeous”.

David, a 56-year-old sales director, was married before and has 2 children, while Shareen has 3 daughters. She has her own events management business in Wales, after moving there from her birthplace in South Africa.

He admitted that he “fancied her” when he saw Shareen for the first time!

Where are Michelle and Owen now?

Owen has set his Facebook relationship status to ‘Single’, so it looks like the couple haven’t stayed together.

But his most recent profile picture shows him with fictional character ET. One of the IT manager’s friends has commented: “Jeez mate, Michelle’s let herself go a bit.”

This insinuates that Michelle and Owen may still be together, but that they haven’t gone Facebook official yet. It also hints that Owen could have introduced his new wife to his friends and family.

The couple were allegedly living together during the lockdown, however they haven’t confirmed the status of their relationship yet. Michelle allegedly didn’t mention to her family that she’s about to settle down and get married until the last minute – so this could have caused a stir after the show.

The pair haven’t revealed whether they stay together – but Owen told The Mirror: “We wouldn’t have met if it hadn’t been for how we got married.”

Where are David and Shareen now?

Shareen has now made her Instagram private, but has left a picture of her in a wedding dress as her display pic.

But the Birmingham Mail claims that David revealed him and Shareen split after filming for Married At First Sight.

Before making her Instagram private, Shareen confirmed on her Instagram on October 2nd that she is “officially married”. However she does not show her relationship status on her Facebook profile.

She wrote:

It’s official – I am married. So many have asked whether I went through with it or not and is it actually a legal wedding…. yes it’s a legal wedding but due to confidentiality I haven’t been able to say anything until this article. Incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to potentially find unconditional love.
